Waipukurau Construction 2002 Ltd. was established by Gordon and Sharon Spencer in April of 2002, continuing the successful construction business of Waipukurau Construction Co. Ltd. (John & Kathie Hands; established 1973).

Gordon Spencer is the sole director and the shareholders are the Spencer Family Trust, Gordon Spencer and Sharon Spencer.

Since 2002, the company has developed and has established a strong resource base and reputation enabling the completion of a comprehensive range of various construction contracts.

The company office and main workshop is located at 2322 Takapau Road (State Highway 2), Waipukurau.

Waipukurau Construction is a shareholder in Waipukurau Joinery Ltd., also located and operating from the Takapau Road site. In July 2009 Waipukurau Construction obtained the Shed Boss steel framed building license of Hawkes Bay. These two additional assets give us increased flexibility to find the best building solution for our customers, whatever their needs.

The company is a member of the H. B. Registered Master Builders Association. Many of our new homes and commercial projects have received awards at the annual Registered Master Builders House of the Year & Commercial Project Awards.

The company is actively involved in both residential and commercial contracts. These contracts have varied in location from Masterton to Gisborne. The company’s annual turnover has traditionally varied from of $2.5-$5.0 million.

Waipukurau Construction continuously carries $5,000,000 Public Liability Insurance, Contract Works Insurance (for any contracts up to $500,000 in value) and Plant & Equipment Insurance $240,000. Click here for copy of our current insurance certificate.
